In for $500 - Trying to Book Another Win in Atlantic City - Poker Vlog #43
I'm booked to stay at Sheraton.
When I look up online I can only find tournament events being advertised on certain days.
Can anyone tell me what I can expect regarding playing cash games?
Not only tournament games?
Borgata is biggest and probably nicest.
It's on the bay side with Harrahs, do the pool after dark, amazing talent.
Ocean is nice too.
You got the beach.
Size, most visually appealing, away from all the crazies from the boardwalk.
Usually gets the most action of all poker rooms in AC.
The 3 closest to the Sheraton are probably the Best poker all time and Harrah's on the bay side and the Bally's room on the ocean-side.
The Borg is a beautiful room in a beautiful casino.
Over 30+ tables in total on a random weekend night.
The drink service has always been acceptable in my mind, although more regular players will tell you that it's slipped over the last 10 years that room has been running.
I agree - but it went from "excellent" to "adequate.
The poker room is right next door to the food court which has a few good - if wildly over priced for what they are - options.
Harrah's is a much smaller room off to a corner of the casino.
The room is decently run, but it has nowhere near the draw of the Borg.
The drink service I got was really frequent, but I'd stick to bottled beer.
The mixed drinks were definitely "cheap" Bally's WPT room is in the dungeon that is Bally's.
Only played there once a 2 months ago.
With one crazy Asian lady.
Waitresses might have turned to dust at any moment.
Not sure if the room always plays so tight, but given that Bally's gets exactly zero foot traffic that would casually play poker, I'd probably pass on this.
Ocean is the newest casino - all the way on the north side of the boardwalk.
I never loved this place.
The room isn't really tucked away from the casino such that it can catch some casual foot traffic.
It definitely has a lot of stuff that caters to the 21-40 crowd.
I could see me liking it as best poker room in atlantic city second option if I still lived there.
But I don't see how it can over-take the Borgata as the premier room in the city.
This was exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you so much for such an extensive information.
If it isn't too much can you just answer 3 more questions if you can?
From your experience: 1.
Thank you sincerely for your generous answer.
Just excited for tomorrow!
I speak from experience.
There are good players in the general population, for sure.
There are a lot of mediocre players.
And there's a bunch of losing players.
The rake can be tough to beat in the long run, so most of the mediocre players aren't really winning in the long term.
It's difficult to find a raise size that isolates exactly one caller.
There's almost no middle ground.
This drives variance through the roof - good nights you can be up much higher than you'd think is possible.
Or it can all go in a blink of an eye.
At the Borgata, there are usually enough tables that you're not waiting long on a weekend.
Either a spot opens up or the list grows to 8-9 people and they open another game.
While the management has always had some pain managing a room of this size, they're pretty good about getting people seated.
Drinks in AC are free for players - including alcohol.
Borgata has some types of bottled beer and most any simple alcohol+mixer drink crown + coke, etc.
Tip the waitresses a dollar or two when they bring you your drink.
Tip the dealer best poker room in atlantic city least a dollar for any pot that's more than a few blinds taken down pre-flop.
You can always tip more than a buck, but please tip at least a dollar.
I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the ins and outs of the casino.
source wasnt familiar with the house etiquettes but now I'll be sure to tip them accordingly.
I'll be at the Bortega tomorrow.
Knowing what to expect!
If I win big I'd like to share with you some reddit gold or something haha.
Thanks again for all your guidance!!

Now I know best poker room in atlantic city little bit and plan on coming back.
I actually best poker room in atlantic city interested in the dice rolling game, not sure if that's crabs.
Is it all luck based like roulette or some strategy involved?
Crabs are what you get if you pick the wrong woman at Harrah's pool after dark.
Craps is the dice game.
Like anything lots of luck, but you should have some strategery to start.
Comps will give you some things at table games or slots.
I suspect you get some stuff at poker too.
Guess he thought you may have 8 T.
Pro Tip: DO NOT attempt to walk from your Hotel to any of the casinos.

And possibly the closest one from Sheraton?
